SonaPeace Domestic Violence Advice & Support was founded by Toyin Ligali, with the mission to offer advice and resources to those affected by domestic violence. She is a domestic abuse specialist and academic, whose work is deeply rooted in both lived experience and advanced studies. She holds a postgraduate degree in “Understanding Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse” from Goldsmiths, University of London, where she developed a multidisciplinary approach to addressing trauma and abuse.
In addition to her postgraduate studies, Toyin completed a PhD research project which focused on social prescribing for individuals with long-term medical conditions. Her research explored critical gaps in the existing literature, particularly in relation to age, types of medical conditions, session frequency, and literacy levels of those receiving social prescribing interventions. Her findings highlighted the need for more inclusive and data-informed approaches to improve outcomes for vulnerable populations.
